John Hillcoat directs Red Dead Redemption trailer

Red Dead Redemption is for the serious gamers not for the blockbuster fellows.

The Road was a great misstep on the part of John Hillcoat. The scope of the book was beyond his control but he did give it his all. I still feel he is one of the few directors who can take on Cormac McCarthy’s book and not the Coen Brothers. He is all set to take on another Proposition style trailer for a game called Red Dead Redemption. The game is a successor to the 2004 follow up called Red Dead Revolver.

The trailer will be aired next month by Fox. The trailer will be on sites on May 15 th midnight. Here is a plot synopsis.

America, early 1900’s is the era of the cowboy is coming to an end. When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is sent across the American frontier to help bring the rule of law. Experience intense gun battles, dramatic train robberies, bounty hunting and duels during a time of violent change. Red Dead Redemption is an epic battle for survival in a beautiful open world as John Marston struggles to bury his blood stained past, one man at a time.

Check out the short trailer to understand the tone of where John Hillcoat will be going with this one. Gaming has really changed in the last couple of years. It has begun to create more real worlds than before.
