Tony Scott will be working on the sequel to the hugely successful Top Gun 2. Paramount is also trying to bring on board Jerry Bruckheimer and Tony Scott back to the studio for the sequel. Tony is surely on board so we will be expecting him to mess it up with all his silliness.
Maverick was the character Tom Cruise played in the original, but Tony Scott is looking out for someone young to replace the character. He will be waiting it out for a script now.

I’m going down to I think it’s Fallon, Nevada, down near New Mexico and it’s a whole different world now… These computer geeks — these kids play war games in a trailer in Fallon, Nevada and if we ever went to war or were in the Middle East or the Far East or wherever it is, these guys can actually fly drones. They are unmanned aircraft. They operate them and then they party all night.
So after the horrible mess he has just directed with Denzel called Unstoppable. He will come on board this project. It is question of whether people really want a sequel to the old movie. The studios have failed to ask the people out there if they want it.
