Television is returning to the medium of choice for all the stars of Hollywood in the last couple of years. The renewal of television has taken its time. The gap between the two has been reducing in the last couple of years. There have been many directors who have also been making the transition to television.

Deadline has reported a bunch of directors will be signed on to work for the new HBO series called Enlightened. The beginning will start with Jonathan Demme. He is known for his work on the recent Rachel Getting Married and Silence of the Lambs.

The series story will also feature a host of new directors.

John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Itch), Phil Morrison (Junebug), Nicole Holofcener (Friends with Money), and Miguel Arteta (Youth in Revolt) are also joining Demme on this series. The series will star Luke Wilson and Laura Dern. It tells the story of a self-destructive woman who has a spiritual awakening and decided to live an enlightened life, which creates havoc at home and work. Wilson will play Dern’s disorganized and drug addled husband.

For the time being this is just great news for the series. There will be couple of episodes directed by Demme. HBO has signed on for at least 9 episodes. The success of the show will depend on the rest of the directors coming on board. So there will be more news coming your way on this.
