Trailer Watch: Russell Crowe rocks Three Days

The film looks a little outdated, but only stands a chance because of Russell Crowe.

Next three days

Paul Haggis can’t really pull this off without Russell Crowe. He is really going to try to make this work. But there seems to be a lag in the second half of the trailer because of gaping holes in the script. The film co-stars Elizabeth Banks and even Liam Neeson.

Paul Haggis is known for his work on Crash, which was not that great. But he is known to have written some strong scripts for directors like Clint Eastwood and also the last two Bond Films. It is the plot that suffers in this trailer. It is also a remake of a French Thriller called Pour Elle.

Life seems perfect for John Brennan until his wife, Lara, is arrested for a gruesome murder she says she didn’t commit. Three years into her sentence, John is struggling to hold his family together, raising their son and teaching at college while he pursues every means available to prove her innocence. With the rejection of their final appeal, Lara becomes suicidal and John decides there is only one possible, bearable solution: to break his wife out of prison. Refusing to be deterred by impossible odds or his own inexperience, John devises an elaborate escape plot and plunges into a dangerous and unfamiliar world, ultimately risking everything for the woman he loves.

The idea of remaking something when it is already so good does not make sense. The film was just released 2 years ago. So why does it need a remake is still not certain? Check out the trailer of the film and tell us what you think.

John

John has a keen sense of what ticks in the world of film. He can also be seen in three distinct short film titled Woken Shell, The Tea Shop in the Moon and The Waiting. Cinema has been the basic diet he has been on for the last 10 years. His personality can be judged by the choices of his films.
