Tree Of Life is the most expected film of this full calendar year. The film is directed by the reclusive Terrence Malick. It was expected to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year, but it did not happen. There were also calls from various festivals to get the film in Toronto, Venice, Telluride and New York. But none of the calls was answered. It will certainly now has only a theatrical release, which is actually great.

Some naysayers have gone out to say that the movie will not be even coming out this year. Todd McCarthy was a case in point saying that he believed that the film wouldn’t even open this year, and would most likely premiere at Cannes in 2011, leaving most of us a little deflated.

After the departure of Bob Berney from Apparation, the distributor’s owner has hired a consultant to aid in the release, which means that the company is working really hard to get the film released this year. So there is a chance the film will come out by December end.

Some people have got silly sources saying that Terrence Malick is trying to cut down the length of the film down to two and a half hours. He is also using the help of students from University of Texas, which sounds really silly.

There was also a mini review of the film from Thompson. She says that the film is a mystical exploration of the meaning of life, a journey in which a microcosm of a family mirrors the world; the difference between man and woman, husband and wife, are mirrored against nature and grace. It will change the language of movies. This sounds like something that comes out a fairytale or something. Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain shine in the film with their performances.

The film is certainly expected to hit a limited release by the end of this year. Malick is also working on his next film with the likes of Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem, Rachel Weisz and Olga Kurylenko at the beginning of October. So we will expect Terrence Malick to work on the new film while simultaneously making changes to Tree of Life. Check out some of the images from sets of the film and tell us what you think are the release prospects of this film.
