One of the most anticipated films of the Venice and Toronto Film Festival is Miral. It is directed by Julian Schnabel. He is known for his work on films like The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and also for the powerful Before Night Falls.

This time around he has got a lot fresher cast for this film. Miral is an adaptation of Italo-Palestinian Rule Jebreal’s book. It tells life about Palestinian woman Hind Husseini, who started the Dar Al Tifl orphanage in Jerusalem in the wake of the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel. It will span the years between 1948 and 1994. The film also stars Hiam Abbas and Frieda Pinto.

Pathe and Miramax will be distributing the film and it will be released on December 3 rd. Check out the images from the film and tell us what you think.
