This is a role to die for in the series. To see James McAvoy as Professor X will be something all together. He is not really a seasoned actor when it compares to the previous offering of Patrick Stewart. Matthew Vaughn is probably getting it right with the first casting for the film. This is not a great step but a good one indeed.
Matthew has already set his film for a June 3rd 2011 release. So he will be working in overtime for this film to see the release achieved. There is also a chance to see Michael Fassbender as Magneto. This will be something to watch out for in the coming weeks on who will play who.
The film will be will be in the same region of the Magneto closed project. So it will be set in the beginnings of the X men world. Here is what Mattew had to say about the project in question.
The film charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were the closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
The film is currently is going through a touch up with the writers of Kick Ass and Stardust. It is also a produced by Bryan Singer who will be offering up another mutant film in the future.
