Clive Owen joins The Killer Elite

Clive Owen is all set to show Jason Statham a thing or two.

Jason Statham is probably after shooting all those barrels and kicking all those butt. So it is time for him to get a sidekick. Now Clive Owen will be joining him on his next feature called The Killer Elite.

The film is about a group of former British Special Forces members being hunted by a team of assassins led by Statham’s character, a former Navy Seal. Owen will take on the role of a senior field operatives and member of a clandestine group protecting former Special Forces soldiers and their families. The shooting starts next month down in Australia.

The Killer Elite is actually based on a novel called The Feather Men by Ranulph Fiennes, first published in 1991. Irish director Gary Mc Kendry will make his feature debut on this after directing an Oscar nominated short film. While it does sound a bit like Stallone’s The Expendables, it’s definitely a unique story of its own. “Founded in England in the late 1960s, the so-called Committee, otherwise known as the Feather Men, was a vigilante group dedicated to solving crimes that the police could not.”
