Ang Lee directs Teresa Teng biopic with Tang Wei

Ang Lee will be taking on Teresa Teng if Pi does not work out.

Lust Caution was a revolutionary film from the director Ang Lee. He really reached the heights of his craft with that film. Tang Wei was the star of that film who took it to the next level. She will be never forgotten for what she said about the film. She said that the film was something to be felt more than watched and there was a lot to feel in the film.

Ang Lee is now hard at work on his next film called Life Of Pie. It is based on the book by Yan Martel. After getting the green light on that project he will work on his next film based on the pop singer Teresa Teng and a movie about her life.

Lee has also selected his Lust Caution star Tang Wei to play the lead role. The whole Teng family also feels that she can only play the role because of her uncanny resemblance and temperament to the late singer.

Teng was well known throughout the Asian world for her ballads and folk songs, and sang a staggering number of languages including Mandarin, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian and English. She was popular through much of the 70s and 80s, and though she long wished to perform in mainland China, she never got the chance, passing away tragically at the age of 42 due to a severe asthma attack.

So even though Ang Lee won’t get a chance to direct Life of Pi; he has another project waiting for him if something goes wrong.
