Now Todd Phillips has become a household name after the hit Hangover which he directed. He is now planning another movie called Staycation which is about a family vacation road movie without a family hitting the highway for a holiday.
The film will work on less extravagant levels to make something worth watching. The film will not be the typical Hollywood vacation flick under the watchful radar of Phillips.
We have absorbed a lot of those great comedies. The film will take from John Hughes movies. The film will basically be a vacation movie about people who are forced to have a vacation in their own hometown which is not a tourist destination.
The plot line is really perfect and has really not been explored before. So it will be worth a try. Staycation is still in the writing stages and Todd will be working on The Hangover 2 right now.
“[Todd] didn’t say anything specifically [about cameos], but that’s the assumption we always write under,” said Manfredi. “You want to write a great character that’s going to lure these guys in. If there’s a character who pops up, you always want to try to give that man or woman something fun, so every part is a potential scene stealer.”
