Tarzan will be out in 3D

Tarzan will be getting a 3D adaptation soon.

There have been so many movies been getting the 3D treatment in the last couple of months. Ratatouille will be going through it as well. Constantin got the animation rights to the Tarzan novels from the estate of author Edgar Rice Burroughs. It will be the first book in the series. It will be another animated feature.

The first book was first published in 1912 and spawned numerous sequels and related works. The character became strongly identified with Johnny Weismuller after he starred as Tarzan in a series of MGM features.

In the new adaptation Tarzan is born in the jungles of Africa to a stranded English aristocratic couple. When they are killed, the infant is adopted and raised by a clan of apes. He discovers his true origins when he comes upon the cabin of his late parents.

The production company is also doing work on films like Resident Evil: Afterlife, which will be opening this fall. There is also the Three Musketeers, which also begins shooting this month.

The Disney version of Tarzan was a big hit for the studio. So they really have to give in to the series wholeheartedly.
