Penelope Cruz was probably sore after she found out that Charlotte Gainsbourg took away her prize in the Cannes Film Festival last year. Gainsbourg won the best actress for her performance in the film Antichrist. But right now no one is really sure about her presence in the Lars Von Trier film Melancholia.
But there is another big development in the works. She might join Jack Sparrow in his next conquests in the Pirates film. Johnny Depp has already starred with her on Blow couple of years back. So this will be the second time the two of them have been seen on the screen.
The talks are in motion to offer Cruz a role in the Pirates film. The director of the film will be Rob Marshall who already worked with Penelope Cruz on his last film titled Nine. She will play Sparrow’s foil and equal in many ways.
So a lock on the Pirates movie will be something big for the star. She was really not well used in the Nine film. But this will be something to watch out for. She has a nomination this year for Nine at the Oscars. But all this talk about Penelope makes me already kind of dizzy.
