There were news of this team up some time in the beginning of the year for the project The Promised land, but it fell through. Now John Hillcoat and Shia Labeouf will be teaming up once again on a new film called Triple Nine. It is based on a script by Matt Cooke.
The film centers on a group of crooked cops planning a major heist who realize they must shoot one of their own in order to get away with it. The lead actor is an upstanding young officer who they choose as their victim. The film’s title is based on police code indicating that an officer needs assistance.
John Hillcoat is quite excited about making this, but it is still uncertain if he will get the cast. Chris Pine has also shown interest in this film. It would be nice to see another feature film from the great director.
