David Fincher on the world he wants to create

David Fincher on the changing opinions of studio bosses.

Scott Rudin calls him an anarchist and he is all set to release his next film The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. Fincher confirms the sentiment by giving an overview of the anti authoritative helmer’s climb through the ranks as a commercial and music video guru doing it his way.

The interview also brings news that Fincher is angling to get topless Rooney Mara on the poser for Dragon Tattoo. “I don’t think of myself as difficult,” Fincher told THR. “We are expected to do stuff that’s awesome. That means we are going to have to push each other.” The pictures featured recently of the starlet seemed to be pushing some buttons.

Fincher has immersed himself in all things Dragon Tattoo and wanted the actress to follow suit. He also hooked her up with an apartment in Stockholm, and since there she is gotten her tats and piercing and has learned how to ride a motorcycle. Mara’s also trying out skateboarding since Fincher told her, “I don’t want you to stand like a girl.”

The script writer focuses more on the Mara’s character of Lisbeth Salander, which is a really good sign. Rooney Mara will be replacing Noomi Rapace in the remake of the original film. I especially like the last line of the interview where David Fincher says that if anyone is in control he is nuts.
