I really can’t wait for this to come out. The first trailer was the reason why everyone is going to jump for this one. It seems to be a lot darker than the silly Twilight dramas.
Day breakers is a bleak apocalyptic vampire flick from the resourceful Spierig brothers. I think that draws to this one is grim realities of the humans and the vampires and the semi unique storyline draws into this atmospheric film. The trailer does give away a lot about what this film is going to be about. But it is still not going to deter loads of people storming the theaters for this one.
Here is a brief synopsis of the film. In the year 2019, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. It stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Isabel Lucas and Sam Neill. Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, it hits theaters on January 8, 2010.
I think for me it is the presence of Ethan Hawke that will make all the difference in this film. The human condition will be brought out so well with some of his more intriguing expressions.
