Trailer Watch: Jeff Bridges steams in True Grit

Matt Damon really makes light of all the dark going ons in Cogburn territory.

This new trailer is surely going to make some splashes all over the place. The first trailer was really tease into the world inhabited by Cogburn. This time round the world seems to be coming on its own. The humor is really good and Matt Damon seems to feel mighty comfortable in these western boots.

The use of the song by Johnny Cash really lifts this trailer to the heights of famous westerns like Unforgiven. The western is back with a vengeance Coen brothers style. Here is a small synopsis of the older film.

Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross’s (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him — over his objections — to hunt down Chaney. Her father’s blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.
