The casting for Butter has been a little too commercial, but it got significant eyeballs in the last couple of weeks. The film is based on the script by Jason Micallef. It was directed by Jim Field Smith. It stars Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman, Ty Burrell, Rob Corddry, Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, alicia Silverston and Yara Shahidi.
The film takes place in Iowa among an interrelated group of people, with championship butter craving being the event that brings them together. It is not just that it also turns on its head to become a political satire.
Entertainment Tonight got hold of a video clip from the film. The cast is explaining their characters to the audience. Garrner play a woman whose husband is a champion butter carver and that she sees his carving success as a route to politics and greater things. But then all hell breaks loose when he quits carving.
Jackman runs a car dealership and was a former boyfriend of Garner’s character. He looks and plays the character really well. He might just outshine the rest of the cast on this one. Olivia Wilde plays Brooke, a sassy smart, raunchy, funny stripper. So she is like the devil in most of the proceedings. Alicia Silverstone is also there in the film.
This looks like the next Little Miss Sunshine. So the indie crowd will be pleased this year with Butter.
