The last time Brad Pitt starred in a Darren film he had to walk out of it because of issues in the script. He will be trying his luck with another great book called The Tiger. Darren is also in the frontline to direct the Wolverine sequel, which he should probably miss out on.
The Tiger is based on the nonfiction book by John Vaillant about a game warden who must protect a Siberian town when a tiger begins attacking its inhabitants, with Brad Pitt attached to star.
Guillermo Arriaga will be adapting the film for the big screen. This will show why Brad Pitt is interested in the project. Angelina has also shown a lot of interest in the project. Arraiga is also saying that he has been travelling to New York to work on the script with Darren Aronofsky.
Arraiga also had to say this about the project “I decided to adapt this story because it is a great privilege to work with [a dedicated filmmaker] like Darren Aronofsky and Brad Pitt.”
Here is a synopsis via Slashfilm on the book.
“[The Tiger] takes place on the Siberian plain, where human development is encroaching on the tigers’ habitat — and one tiger turns on the intruders. With townspeople being tracked and hunted with an almost supernatural power, a conservationist game warden must face down the tiger. It is a fight that only one of them can win.”
This project seems to be really big with all the names attached to an independent film like this. Darren has been working on some interesting projects after his The Fountain days. So his next project will be keenly watched out.
