Michael Shannon will be playing General Zod in Superman Reboot

Michael Shannon looks out for some fierce roles in his next avatar in Superman reboot.

Viggo Mortensen will not be playing a role in the new film directed by Zach Snyder in the reboot for Superman. He will be replaced by Michael Shannon and he will be playing General Zod in the new film.

Zod will be Superman’s most formidable enemies. He is also the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.

The supporting cast will include Amy Adams who will take on the role of Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play the roles of Martha and Jonathan Kent.

Terence Stamp portrayed General Zod to memorable effect in Superman II. Shannon will be something to watch out for in this new adaptation of the old series. The new villain that the actor will be taking on will be an autistic megalomaniac in his destruction. This is really tailor made for Michael Shannon. The story will have to be something special for him to excel.

The role of Ursa is still on the lookout. The good part is that Christopher Nolan will be playing the role of a producer in this new movie. David S. Goyer is writing a screenplay based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. They have turned into a formidable team in the last couple of years. The film is scheduled for release in December 2012. Tell us what you think of this development.
