He is finally interested in something. Edward Norton would like to play a role in the next Batman 3. The role will be something Christopher Nolan should look into. Edward Norton can really change the tide of the whole franchise if he gets a chance. He is really that good.
The Joker will not be seen in the next Dark Knight. So the new villains will be encroaching into Batman’s space. Edward Norton had just recently gotten out of a film that didn’t really need his expertise. The silly Avengers franchise has already the recast the role of The Hulk with Mark Ruffalo.
Norton had this to say about his departure.
“It was a great privilege to do it, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of everybody’s support and positivity towards that because I love those films too. And I hate it when they miss. I hate it when they miss on one – it seems like such a wasted opportunity. But the truth is I’m probably more naturally interested in doing something that I haven’t done. I have only good thoughts towards that though.”
Edward Norton also lavished some praise on Christopher Nolan as well.
“Chris Nolan’s making the best [comic book films] out there by far. I’d do one with him. He’s set a new bar for sure, and I think he’s done a great, great job. [Playing a villain] would be fun, I would not say no to that.”
Batman is still set on a date and will be out in theaters in July of 2012.
