Jane Campion to direct BBC drama Series

Jane Campion will be immersing herself into a mini series next for BBC Two.

She will be judging the films at the Mumbai Film Festival and she is also in line ot work on a BBC Two drama. Jane Campion is famous for her work on films like The Piano and Bright Star.

Top of the Lake is the name of her next film. It will be written along with Gerard Lee. It focuses on the case of a 12 year old girl who is discovered standing in a frozen lake, five months pregnant. The investigating detective Robin Griffin is tested when she takes on the mystery and ends up learning more about herself.

This will be a drama series. It looks like something extraordinary for the director and she will bring her unique sensibility to the writing. It is a powerful and haunting story about our search for happiness in a paradise where honest work is hard to find.
